The Stanley Parable is probably my favourite game of this year, and definitely up there in my top games of all time. Perhaps that is just because I have played so many games that I easily understand the things poked fun at in the game. I highly recommend this game to everyone, though, or at the very least the demo which is a great little treat in and of itself. Unfortunately some of the fun of the game is killed by having it explained (IMO) but I still think it's worth it.
