I don't see this kind of protest having much effect. It would be better if every dissident wrote in a preferred choice. Pick that candidate early, then get the message out. People will respond when they see that their system is actually under threat of being co-opted.

Detroit's new mayor just won on a write in. He had money and backing, but every vote for him had to be a deliberate write-in.
