Perhaps my favorite new drink to make. Once you have the ingredients, it's easy:
With ice in a shaker mix:
1 1/2 oz Plymouth Gin .5 oz St Germain .5 oz Lemoncello .25 oz Honey .5 oz Lime Juice Muddled JalapeƱo (go easy on this, a little goes a long way)
ENJOY! Compliments of a kick ass restaurant/bar Peche in Austin
If you're going for machismo, just get a glass and some whiskey. -Which I often do. But this is a really nicely balanced cocktail. I've been really digging St. Germain lately.
(and only Texans think "queso" is orange)
fair enough. I didn't name it but I did drink 3 of them tonight and a rose by any other name will still make you feel right as rain. Your description of St. Germain is right on the money. I recently introduced it to a friend and he said it smelled strongly of hops. -Never noticed that before but it does.
I'll accept the homework. Any chance I can just "infuse" some vodka I have with some vanilla bean? I have a ton of vodka here and rarely use it, would be silly to go buy more. Anything you light on fire before consuming definitely lays claim to the moniker "Devils...." more than a drink made with elderflower liquor. Still, give it a whirl, it's tasty. I'll report back after I've made the Devils French Revolution. -and I will.
One of my prep jobs as a kid in a a restaurant: I'm 1/2 mexican. My grandpa eats jalapeƱos like other people eat a carrot sticks, except without the ranch dipping sauce. I get it.Only way I take my jalapenos is smoked and turned into chipotle.
