Glad they arrived safely, those photos are awesome! -though the first one doesn't seem to want to load for me. When is the competition? What does it entail? Good luck, be sure to keep us informed. [edit] All the images have loaded fine. Sorry about that.
This is so cool! What is the strategy? Throwing discs or placing them through the windows? Also, can the robot pick up the fallen discs and re-use them? Post some video when you get it, I want to see this thing in action.
We have to throw the discs into the windows. Rules say we can't place them in or take them out. 45 discs for each team. And yeah, intakes from the ground are aloud. No video yet, we keep our strategies to ourselves until competition. :) I'll be sure to post the reveal video when we can.
The top secret nature of this makes it even more interesting. Have you participated in the past? If so are there any videos of past competitions you can share?
Yeah we've been a team since last year. The competition has been around for over 15 years. Last years robot - we're team 4334. Context: We won "rookie all star award", meaning we were the best rookie team in our regional. That brought us to world championships (400 out of >2500 teams), which we won our division in (top 12 of 400). Sadly, somebody used an exploit on the wifi of the event (which was found out months later), and we lost the world championships because of it. Our facebook page, if you want updates.
The dreaded triple balance move at the end there for the red team -I have no idea what that means :) That was cool though, I enjoyed watching it. I'll check out the FB page and look forward to the updates. Good luck preparing.
