I rather enjoyed 'Water Walk'. I'm not a big John Cage fan, but the genera is right up my alley. I was carving pumpkins with my daughter yesterday, we were listening to Rolf Julius 'Early Works Vol 1 79-82'. My wife came down stairs and said "What is that noise?" I told her what we were listening to. We chatted a bit. At some point I referred to it as 'music'. She said "This isn't music." I just laughed and said that she probably wasn't the first person to say that about Rolf Julius. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4qF9MwvdUo I don't know why Cage has never really laid me out, maybe I just haven't put forth the effort to dig into his stuff. I feel like it sounds like he is trying a bit too hard. Thanks for the post, I liked his performance. I did laugh and I bet it was much better with the radios.
What a great track to carve pumpkins to. Here's to cool Dads!
