I've been involved with art in many forms, throughout my life, and the one thing I know for sure about art, is that there it cannot be defined. Art is just another form of language. And, like spoken language, sometimes you understand it, sometimes you don't. Sometimes you want to learn a language, but most of the time you don't. Music. Painting. Sculpture. Theater. Circus. Dance. Fire. Collage. Paper folding. Poetry. Writing. Movement. Water. Voice. Sand. Whatever your expression or medium - the "language" you speak - it just IS. Any judgment, valuation, or discussion is just masturbation: Yeah, it may feel good, but it doesn't add anything to the art.
