As I am doing some of the best work I have ever done during my tenure at this company, I am - at the same time - preparing my resume, and warming up my network of contacts at several companies, looking for my next career move.

It's ironic and a little bit sad that the biggest customer in this company's history, will be acquired through my work, and I will not be here to enjoy the praise. (The proposal is due next month, and won't be awarded until September. I expect to be gone in the next 3-4 weeks, or so.)

But, it is time for me to go. The career path I was on dead-ended in a minor reorganization, and the promotion to a new position that I was angling for ... well, the job is no longer there. And that leaves me in a role with no clear career path, which is unsustainable for someone my age, in my industry.

In other news, Bethesda is teasing some new Fallout thing... which will be announced on the 10th ... and I am way too fanboy-excited about it.

Glad you're making the move. I think that's the only thing to do once you know you can't move further without breaking something. Then again, I'm not to say (see above).

There's a teaser out.

We are not amused.

Sad thing is I'll probably still play it..

I'm thrilled. Fallout 76.

They could release FO4 for every region on the planet, using the exact same engine and game mechanics, and I'd play every one of them. (The fan-mod version in the Pacific Northwest is really exciting... but will be PC-only... IF it ever gets finished.)

I just like the game. It presses all my buttons.

And I expect I will be over-the-moon about this one... I grew up in the 1970's, and am totally nostalgic for that era.
