They're not even bothering with the facade of legitimacy anymore. This is what happens when your approval ratings no longer matter.
I do too. I hope this prompts some more active opposition domestically. What's interesting though is that in a way our pride in national chaos means we expect things to be kind of jacked up. In a way it's good--I'm glad our society is stable overall, even if it does a poor job of serving a lot of us. But outright unrest or, God forbid, civil war would be so much worse, that a certain degree of apathy is healthy.
Nah, "acceptance" implies an informed, deliberate decision. That's not really the norm to my experience.
You know, maybe you're right. Apathy is lack of decision; not that acceptance always is deliberate - you do, after all, accept your child for what they are without thinking about it - but apathy is definitely more applicable to the situation.
