Yes. As it should be. Being selfish doesn't have to have a bad connotation. In this context, it reads as though the past year hasn't been centered on [your]self. For me, if I'm not furthering myself in some way that is clear to me, then what's the point? To be clear, caring for others is well and good and honorable, but taking care of myself ensures have enough in my tank to share with others. I can try in vain, but I can't show compassion for others if I don't have it for myself. Learning to say no and what purpose is usually a good step forward when I land in this spot.
