Bah, it's been time for indie to go the way of alternative for years now, and it would be the best possible thing for music if Pitchfork died and no other site replaced it as the music journalism site.

Bring back zines.

People still make them, and nice looking magazines with similar print runs to old zines because technology marches on. I loved Coilhouse when it was around, and I think Meriadoc was a fan too. It's easier to just install Wordpress though.

I was a Coilhouse super fan. I own all of them, read everything, still follow a bunch of the authors and artists. It was one of my favorite pieces of physical art in the world. It shaped so much of who I am.

I think I'm gonna start a zine about podcasts about YouTube channels.

Zines never left. Razorcake, Basement Babes, and a massive amount of other Etsy-sold zines exist, not to mention ones that can usually be found at your locally owned record store.

Know what's interesting? My local record store doesn't have a lot of zines, they do have a lot of self published comics. I'd call it a fair trade.

Huh, that works just as well. Anything that supports and promotes local or otherwise self published material I'm a fan of. The local record stores here are lacking in general, but fortunately the other nearby cities have some great ones.
