Yeah, that wasn't the best call on his part. I guess when you've become the indisputably best player of all time in your sport and your as competitive as MJ is, you look for other challenges.

Is he the indisputably best? What do you think scrimetime? My guess is that you think Larry Legend is the best all time.

You're guess would be correct. Larry Joe Bird.

"As far as playing, I didn't care who guarded me - red, yellow, black. I just didn't want a white guy guarding me, because it's disrespect to my game." - Larry Bird

Every time I hear Larry Legend, I cannot help but feel a little bit hurt. My beloved Golden State Warriors practically delivered all those championships to Boston by building the 1980's Boston Celtics dynasty. We traded Robert Parrish and the #3 pick (Kevin McHale) to Boston for #1 pick (Joe Barry Carroll) and the #13 pick (Rickey Brown).

When I was a kid, my dad would always get stopped and asked, "are you Kevin McHale"? My dad is only 6'1". That was a hell of a team though. (not Golden State, Boston) -- :)

If I were starting a team, I would pick Kobe over M.J.

Thats a big call. MJ was the complete player, and everyone that matters (IE experts etc) say nothing compares to Jordan. Kobe's great, dont get me wrong, but I'd take 1 MJ over 2 Kobe's any day. Would have been great to see them both in their prime together, so it's a bit difficult to directly compare, the game has changed etc, but damn, Jordan is undisputed Greatest Of All Time.

Yeah. I have people scream at me for picking Kobe over MJ. But personally, I enjoy watching Kobe more than MJ. Of course there are people who say that Oscar Robertson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oscar_Robertson) is a more complete player than MJ. In the 1961-62 season, he averaged a triple double for the entire season!! 30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 11.4 assists. Amazing!!

Gonna start a new post for this one, with the #nba tag of course. Here it is: http://hubski.com/pub?id=18168

Really? Why? Granted, I haven't actively watched basketball (outside of sports-center highlights) for probably 5-7 years now, still, I find it hard to believe that Kobe has the insane drive and will to win that MJ had. -was intense. I guess the question is, who made/makes his teammates better on the court?

Kobe's dedication and his work ethics towards the game is legendary. He is known to stay behind and shoot for hours by himself after games. Experts say that Michael Jordan was a better player because he made his teammates better. Of course these are the same experts that thought Sam Bowie was better than M.J. coming out of college.

My vote is, and always will be for David Bowie over them all.

I second that.
