I think psychedelics can be used to ease existential trauma in some situations, and there is research that seems to indicate such. I don't have much more to say than that. The author of the letter seems to think she helped Huxley achieve such a peace but there is no way of knowing without asking Huxley himself. Ideally it should be done well ahead of time, not at the last possible hour.
