Oddly enough there have been a recent rash of posts on Hacker News on probabilistically generating HN post titles based on historical titles. I can imagine an app that let's you import previous social media data and then automates a lot of the tedium of managing random social media profiles (in a world where social media platforms are the thing to build.)

Not that that would be very useful or add any value, by it would be interesting to try and do. And I can see why Google would want something like this, as it might reduce some friction in using their network and they have tons of brilliant people to throw at it (who are probably aren't doing anything particularly interesting at the moment because they have so many brilliant people.) As an added bonus maybe they'll figure out how to automate their entire network and we won't have to deal with it.

Here's a thought: Advertisers would hate this, because it minimizes time online. Maybe Google just wants to own this so they can sue anyone that tries to do it.
