I'm about 40 minutes away from one of the larger fires, but it seems to be under control at the moment. I haven't had massive amounts of smoke since last week luckily.

I recall a huge forest fire while I was living in Montana. Although the fires were probably 40+ miles away, the sky was still dark and the sun looked like a blood orange.
