One of the objects is intimately connected to the Beatles, the other is a tooth. The way I see it, I can imagine either John Lennon or Paul McCartney bidding at auction on a letter Chuck Berry wrote to Elvis Presley (lets imagine this exists). I would be shocked if either of them bought Chuck Berry or Elvis' tooth. Why? Because as you put it, "it is gross".
I understand the "reminder of the past" part but I'm much more interested in an object that is a creation of theirs representing a moment in history. -Just my take on how I'd spend my $11k... by all means, have the tooth :)
