If you haven't been following the EmDrive, it's a fuelless space drive which uses microwave radiation to (hopefully) generate thrust. We don't fully understand the physics, if it works at all. But a fuelless drive would revolutionise space travel.

The digitaltrends title is misleading. They haven't 'confirmed' it works. The thrust is so small, it probably won't be 'confirmed' until we actually put it in space. But they did eliminate more possible errors in prior tests, and still found thrust.

However, there is still

a contamination caused by thermal expansion.

the team is now developing an advanced analytics tool to assist in the separation of the contamination, as well as an integrated test which aims to alleviate thermally induced errors altogether.
