While this is unfortunate, I can see this issue taking a back seat to the more immediate & obvious danger or our atmosphere's health being in decline... which itself is getting much less attention than it needs. The problem is there are far too many people who just don't give a fuck and won't give a fuck as long as they have a vested interest in not giving a fuck.

It's scary to think that because of this report some people will eschew common sense and choose to just exercise the problem away rather than actually deal with it.

I've been using the OpenXML SDK for a few weeks to generate and modify Word documents. It's a million times easier than fecking about with RTF (which is what the task originally called for)

The fact that you can count your followers will have the same effect on this site as the karma system is having on reddit.

It won't be the new users. It'll be the the ones from the left side of the bell-curve who follow the herd over here who cause it.

I can see the same conversation happening about this site in a few years. Especially considering we now have more stats to use in the inevitable dick-measuring contest. Instead of karma we now have followers.
