Don't agree with all he has to say, but it is very thought provoking.

When I buy groceries at Whole Foods, I bring my own reusable bags. For each bag that is used, I receive a credit on my bill. It's something like 25-cents a bag. The question I get each time is, "would you like to donate your bag credit"? They don't even say to whom?! Just, "would you like to donate". As if to "donate" is always right, no matter where the "bag credit" is going.
When I ask what the charity is, they seem flabbergasted that this should matter? It's usually to support community gardens or something like this. -Which I think is a fine thing to support, I just want to know what I'm supporting. I watch others in line just say "yes" without question. From the ending of the video: "they will live a little bit better but in the same situation that produced them". -To be impoverished with a facial deformity or impoverished without the deformity? Those are two drastically different situations. I love the RSA animates. The 21 century enlightenment one I highly recommend watching: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AC7ANGMy0yo&feature=playe...
