After many years in the US Navy, I've found any attempt to de-boxify and un-capitalize my handwritten script laborious and frustrating. This was interesting.

In my case I dislike my cursive handwriting. For a time I tried to avoid writing in manuscript, but it never felt comfortable writing just cursive. So I went back to manuscript. Nowadays I use both. It depends on the situation. But I rather use manuscript: It's more legible and clean.
