I recently had a discussion with 2 Jehovah's witnesses. They at first tried to convince me that evolution was bogus, but when I turned out not to buy it, they changed tactics and tried to convince me of the watered down version, namely that God created and that man changed from that. It was a weird experience. They came with all sorts of arguments which had nothing to do with evolution, it had to do with the origin of life. It struck me as really odd that people still believe that evolution is bogus, despite the evidence. (And in a country where evolution is part of the required curriculum, in primary and high school)

Just to make one thing clear: Evolution is a theory that describes how life changes over time. It has NOTHING to do with where life came from whatsoever. That is still under investigation.

I don't care if you think God created everything. You can believe whatever you want, as long as it remains in the realm of unknown. You cannot close your eyes and say that we were created as we are now. That would be a fantasy. Nothing is static. It's just that for us, humans, the world appears as being static, because we are here for such a short time. Just like the Earth appears to be flat. We can't see that the Earth is round until we zoom out. The same is true for time. We need to zoom out to see the whole picture.
