I think I'm starting to reach a point where I have to start shutting certain things out of my life. Refusing to accept new forms of input.

I don't have the time or mental energy to seek out, parse, absorb and integrate even a small fraction of the information available to me. I don't think anyone does, actually. Which means that things have to be prioritized, and to most people learning how their devices work so that they can understand the legal and ethical implications of using said devices will not be a priority. There is no market incentive to have educated users, and in fact there IS a market incentive in having uneducated users, because they can be exploited more easily.
