I want people to feel free to curate their own version of it without pressure. I suspect that you feel able to do that more freely than most. But might that freedom also come from having a high follower/following ratio? Personally, I don't follow two members of team Hubski. I follow/unfollow until my feed feels right. I want everyone to do that. I don't think the site benefits if people treat following like friending. I honestly appreciate your use as a counter example. However, if for the majority of users there is a barrier between the 'is' and the 'ought', I'd like to lower it if it can be done in a constructive way.
