I’ve decided to stop drinking. Like, forever. I’m going to go to an AA meeting. My last day drinking will be May 6th. I’ll end with a nice bottle of Dom.

It’s no longer serving me. Has it ever? Bad for my brain, bad example for my kids, bad for my weight and it makes me feel like shit the next day. I’m done.

Feels good to resolve to do this. But I’m also scared. Scared of losing friendships, missing out on social events etc.

It’s going to be a big change.

Watched the state of the union live and I listened the correspondence dinner and to his recent Howard Stern interview. I don't follow Steve Bannon at all. I think any president should have regular press conferences, ideally with journalists that "press," them and hold them accountable. Everything you suggested I watch is highly scripted (including the Stern interview.) Bubblegum stuff.

RFK Jr (you can certainly find flaws there) will have my vote. He has a platform that I largely agree with. More so than Trump or Biden. I could never vote for Trump and I can't imagine 4 more years of Biden. We are not headed in a good direction, imo and some of his proposed fiscal policies are ridiculous.

Platforming? Presidential debates have been a norm since the 1970’s. If Trump is a criminal traitor then winning a debate against him should be fairly simple for Biden. What’s to fear?

He’s had the least number of press conferences since Reagan for a reason. The guy is not what he once was and debate was never his strong suit. He will proport to be above debating a, “traitor.” And Dems will gobble it up. We have Ukraine, inflation, Israel/palestine, AI, climate change etc. But no press conferences. No debates. Investigative journalism is dead. Bunch of sock puppets espousing scripted narratives. But at least we could see our prospective candidates debate. No more though. Sucks.

Did you read the article? Pretty sure he mentions the decline in listeners. It’s a very well written article from someone that genuinely loves NPR. It’s remarkable for that reason.

I used to listen daily. I used to donate. I used to volunteer to answer phones. I turned it off, stopped being a, “sustainer,” and would never volunteer to help fundraise anymore. I’m not alone. It’s become hard to listen. Lots of noise, very little signal. Wasn’t always so.

Hey there! Traffic has definitely slowed. I probably swing by two to three times a week to check in and read some updates from hubskiers or share a song I recorded etc. I too am grateful for the place. It is almost like a journal of my past ideas, creativity and ruminations. Plus so many great people that have stopped in throughout the years. Hard to believe that mk posted the inaugural post over 7 years ago. Activity has waxed and waned over the years. But Hubski is here to stay.

Onward!

Have an osteochnodral lesion in my knee. Getting supershot prp. Need to stop having cause to use our product! Getting old sucks, but I suppose it's better when you've got a longevity company to help ya along.
