They pop the grape out of its skin and into their mouth, discarding the skin, then they spit out the seeds. I think the skin tastes fine so I just eat it. I believe this is a variety of Asian grapes with easily detached skin, so it might not work so well with other types of grapes.
I live in Korea largely because it's not where I grew up. I like the US and it's a good place to live, but for some reason it's not for me, at least not right now. I've been living abroad on and off for 6 years, still not ready to go back. I like the little (or big) challenges of living abroad, and the new things I could never have experienced back home. Like today, I witnessed the laborious process that is the Korean way of eating seeded grapes. I like encountering new things, even if it's a stupid way to eat grapes.
Yup, it's been a while. I need to remember to stop by here more often. I'm glad to see you've kept the photo challenges going. :)
I learned the word for "acorn" recently in Korean. I still struggle with remembering how to say things like "bring" or "hear". But if I ever need to talk about acorns, I've got that covered.
I'm from the US, live in Korea. As a result I usually wind up on websites when they're dead because everyone in the US is sleeping. Happy Friday morning, it's the weekend here. :)
Yup! Same demonstration. :)
Those are some great street scenes. I think some of the best photos of cities are the ones of the people that live there.
I wish I had taken more photos of them. I miss those staircases. Hope you're enjoying Belarus. Have to say that photo is pretty much exactly how I pictured the place in my mind. Cold and Soviet.
Wow, Belarus? That sounds like it'll be a hell of an experience. I've been tempted to visit North Korea at some point in the future, but that's a very distant plan.
Thanks! If no one other than us wants to take over then I guess it'll have to go on hiatus for a few weeks. Do you want me to take over for February up until when I move, and will you be okay to do March? Or part of March if you're still busy for part of it? Are you moving within Montreal or away from it? I can't imagine trying to move all my crap in the middle of a Canadian winter. :(
No, this is from 2011, before all that stuff started. Just a normal labor day demonstration, a lot of communist and anarchist groups I think--couple of arrests happened at the end. I didn't take any photos during the student protests, I really didn't feel like getting pepper sprayed or corralled. Still somehow ended up in the midst of them on a number of occasions sans camera (peaceful ones thankfully).
