I was drinking soda pop from a plastic cup "Made from Plants" that claimed "100% Compostable". I've noticed lots of these types of things around, but I know nothing about the process, or what the broader world of plant plastics means. I started reading this afternoon (instead of working) and came across this article. I think it is interesting that to create the "greener" Coca Cola Plant Bottle, Brazilian sugar can must be shipped to India for processing. It sounds counterintuitive - but somehwere it must work. It's very interesting to me

I want glass and no corn syrup. :/
The Coca-Cola in China and Mexico tastes better. It's made with sugar and comes in a glass bottle. Well, actually China is quickly turning over to plastic. If the US is more developed, why do we get the shit Coke in plastic?

dude... I buy Mexi-Coke by the case. It is the only way to really enjoy it. I can't believe that economically it makes sense for them to make it, bottle it, and ship it here... for not much more than you pay for a plastic bottle. Not that I'm complaining. I'm happy to pay for quality. Is anyone in Atlanta listening?

Wow, you import your coca-cola? That's some serious beveraging. I don't drink much soda but when I do it's either a coke or a cherry coke. My wife swears that it's far better from the fountain. I used to weigh 200lb's. When I stopped drinking soda/pop all day long I lost over 30lbs.
aside: auto-correct really wants "beveraging" to be "leveraging"

I don't import it. It is available at most grocery stores, gas stations, and mexican restaurants <edit> where I live</edit>. I get it by the case at Sam's Club or Costco. A case of 24 last me a couple months. it's my cold beer after a long day.
soda is still evil. when it is sugar and glass... it's just slightly less evil.

I don't think (in my case) you can blame soda. It wasn't soda's fault that I drank hundreds of ounces a day of it.
