I don't see how owning an iPhone vs an Android is indicative of your socio-economic status. I could easily afford to buy an iPhone if I wanted to, but I prefer Android for multiple reasons, mainly Apple's closed ecosystem, and the fact that I would be tied to iTunes, which is a horrible music player all around.
