Second track is really beautiful. His vocals are a constant as his music gets stranger, and the orchestra/harmonies are weirdly Beach Boys-esque. You'll see what I mean.
Dig the horns out the gate. Thanks for posting this, now I have to stay up another 40 minutes and let this album paint my dreams.
Thought you might be interested to know I saw him play tonight. I think he was pretty fucked up, but he has a casual stage presence that's unmatched regardless. Plus he played a good bit of material off of this album, which really made me happy because I've been hitting it pretty hard.
When you say he was "fucked up," do you mean drunk?
I think he was pretty high, but there was also the potential for some mind-addling medicine because he said he was sick. (Actually what he said was, "Have you ever had that moment where when you coughed you knew something was gonna come up but you weren't sure what? Have you ever had that moment happen in front of thousands of people?")
Thankfully, my answer to that question would be "no".
