- Since The Race Card Project is about identity, it's not surprising that many submissions deal with the question of how people choose to identify themselves. That can be more complicated for those who have two parents who do not share the same race — especially when asked to choose a particular box for race or ethnicity on an application or government form.
Having a mexican mother and a german father, I struggle with this.

I had a friend a while ago who would always check "other" and write "human." I took after him and have been doing the same since.

I like that. I usually just leave them blank but that's not a bad idea.

It kind of gives the finger to the concept of race, which doesn't really make all too much sense in the first. place.
