Occasionally I have found myself being prodded by others to seek retribution or take offense at an insult directed towards me. I think it's more a matter of nature rather than a conscious way-of-living, but I haven't found much reward in retribution. In fact, I see it more as a distraction, and a sink for energy that I'd rather put elsewhere. Also, I've often found that the original insult was either misplaced, was due to miscommunication, or originated some place that doesn't much concern me.
