Slightly bizarre that I would read about this first here, rather than on reddit.

I don't understand how this useful though. Aside from having your settings stored server-side, does it offer anything that RES doesn't?

I guess it's the inverse of your front page? Rather than whitelist, you blacklist?

I don't use RES, so it could be useful to someone like me.

Probably pointing out the obvious, but it being server-side is probably a win for bandwidth-constrained people (though, I don't know how much bandwidth typical Reddit browsing uses.)? Unless RES does some fancy tricks?
