So how are we going to spot new posts now? How does this single feed work? Do the new posts sit on top for a bit and then gradually drop below the trending ones as they age?
Yes, that's it. We tested it out behind the scenes for a bit, but I'll be watching to make sure there's ample time to catch new posts. Of course, if people follow you, your new posts will be displayed for them all (and then can start propagating from there), but for people without followers, I'd like them to have a good chance to be noticed.
In addition to this, we have plans to improve discovery beyond just hub recommendations. For example, a 'show me posts like this' or similar functions.

thenewgreen's slot machine is what I was suggesting. Although, thinking about it, I really don't know if it's that useful. I got the idea from Google's I'm Feeling Lucky button. But, let's face it, when we go on the Internet, we have to know what we're looking for, otherwise we'll end up in 4Chan. Rarely I look for random stuff on the web, but maybe that's just me. I don't use the lucky google button, but perhaps other people use it and like it.
As for a list of random posts, I think that our feed is already random enough as it is.

That's why I suggested just the "full-hub-wheeled" posts"... if thats what we are calling them? This way, we would be fairly sure that the random posts were at least appreciated by some already.

Hmmm...sort of like a "slot machine" of posts? Maybe the only posts that make the "random posts" are ones that have received a full hub wheel? -that way we avoid "random crap". Interesting idea Caio.
