George and Giles Martin hanging with Dhani Harrison listening to Here Comes the Sun and isolating never used tracks. Pretty cool
There was a period of about eighteen months where you could download all these song stems that had leaked out of a studio somewhere. I pulled down Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me" just to see how much crud Butch Vig really did with the guitars. It was interesting; supposedly the guitars had been doubled like 100 times on that track but it turned out it was only a few. Wish I could still get them. It was an interesting Pro tools experiment.
By the way, Butch Vig shares a birthday with your daughter. Was curious about others born today and was pleasantly surprised to see his name there. Again, cheers pal. Enjoy the process and have a fantastic Christmas together.
Huh. According to this very reputable site Vig, along with Sinead, Jim and Ann was born on the 8th too. How did it go?
That sounds like a blast. I am sure I could waste a lot of time messing around with that. Did you just look around, or did you actually remix the song?
You can do a lot of damage with just an mbox and a MacBook. Def Leppard hysteria was one of the first albums I owned and it was the first arena concert that I ever saw
