Cannot believe Royksopp is still making music. Thanks for posting. :)
Justine Frischmann (Suede, Elastica) has been fascinating me recently... She started a band as an art project, accidentally became a hit musical artist, didn't like the lifestyle, and quit. She's now a painter and wife to meteorologist in Colorado, and has no interest in making music anymore. That was just where her artistic inclinations leaned at the time. She did that, and has now moved on. I kinda love that. A lot.
There's scientific proof that Doom Metal is the peak of all music. - Plasticity of the human auditory cortex related to musical training. Pantev C, Herholz SC. Neurosci Biobehav Rev. 2011 Nov;35(10):2140-54. doi: 10.1016/j.neubiorev.2011.06.010. - Neurocognitive Model of Music Perception Koelsch & Siebel, 2005
So, not to impede scientific progress...
Hell yeah! I'm a producer (sometimes), and I've watched this whole thing: I love that management told him "no guitars allowed", initially. The ignorance involved in forbidding even the sampling of guitar is hilarious, especially in the genre of what we typically perceive as hell-like music and sounds.
That effects array is, what Z tier redditors call, "chef's kiss".
muymuymuy! I think Mick got too perfectionist with the DOOM: Eternal official soundtrack, or something. Didn't put it out by the date they originally agreed, and eventually got fired. Sucks for DOOM, if they make another new edition, that music is amazing. It's completely Ableton-centric, but I like this guy's sound synthesis stuff, if you're into that sorta thing.
Rediscovered this Love and Rockets album again -- this is the old Bauhaus crew sans 'the dark one' and their message is unapologetically positive and spiritual (in their own way). https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLqL7l3nBydtrx8lwDMYRhiXYhp2g-PFol Also stuff like this!
More guitar brilliance from Polyphia. I've been trying to imagine how to do technical pop for a few years. And speaking as a longtime lover of unpopular pop, I appreciate how much this new release undoubtedly pissed off the Polyphia prog-rock fanbase: Saw them live a few weeks ago just to make sure they're not YouTube-fakin'-it. They are forreal. It was amazing.
