One day, in the middle of a run, my ongoing musings on existentialism wound their way right into another question which intrigues me, namely, the "real" practice of magic. Naturally, when I had the opportunity to contribute to TNG Podcast's episode on running, I was equipped with some less (perhaps more?) than mundane thoughts on the subject. Here, for assessment, bemusement, or for merely glancing sidelong at, I present to you the expanded and refined version. Enjoy!
First off, thank you again for participating in the running podcast, I really enjoyed what you had to say. I'm also excited to begin work on the upcoming "beer" podcast which you've contributed to. mmmm... beer. -It's pretty magic(k)al stuff too, no? I enjoy the dots you connect here cW, my father was just in town visiting us and he has begun running. I played him the podcast and I could tell that your section rang very true to him. He has transformed himself of late and I can tell that it is changing his world. Abracadabra style! Also, I should mention that I really love the photo you used for this one. On it's own it's amazing but add to it the fact that I've run down that very boardwalk. -priceless.
Glad you enjoyed it! You're right, it really is all about connecting the dots. There are about a million ways to carom the mind into a whole new state. Running just happens to have been one of my most intense examples, and the one that triggered this line of thinking. Glad your dad has discovered the run, and I hope we'll get to discuss it. We've been exploring the boardwalk run! We quite like it, but are looking to build on it. Perhaps we can talk shop?
