I used to teach English on skype (about 5-6 years ago) and having lived in Hong Kong I'd always chat with the students from there. The hate for the mainlanders who settled and visited was universal, without a single exception. There's always been ahem... some rivalry, but the increase in hate expressed was a shock, although not unexpected. I know biased and anecdotal data, but still.

To be honest I think the CCP were incredibly restrained over their 50 year commitment. Not restrained compared to most democratic or open governments, but compared to other dictatorships.

No surprise, lifelong-fascist-in-chief Xi couldn't tolerate the last few years of increasing demonstrations and rebellion.

Given the CCP shills installed in their government and since last year's overt crackdown, Hong Kong is certainly doomed and it's incredibly sad.

I''ll have a chat with Satan to reserve a special place at the head of the queue for the anal barbed wire and broken glass insertion machine for Carrie Lam and the rest of the Hong Kong born CCP plants.
