And both apparently believe that households making up to $200,000 or $250,000 are middle-income.
If that's middle-income, what on earth qualifies as high-income?

High income is when you can afford to have someone clean your home everyday and not just once a week. BIG difference :)

I think $250,000 for a household is high-income.

Only a rather small minority of Americans achieve this. However, I grew up in this neighborhood, and most people in this bracket think of themselves as middle income.

It's classic American culture; we are typically more interested and informed about those with more than us, rather than those with less.

I would certainly agree that $250k is high income. That said, it's been my experience that if you're the type of person that always feels something is lacking or that you need "more" to be happy, this will not change whether you make $30k a year or $250k.

Fuck the Jone's, the only person I compete with is myself.
