Yes, I used it in the only guitar part which as you suggested is at the end. I like the guitar but it doesn’t hold tune very long. Every time I go to play it it’s out of tune.
Probably partly adjusting to the new climate its in. But also the tuning machines they put in the Japanese made Gretsch guitars are pieces of shit. I haven't changed mine, but like once a week, I tell myself I'm going to. But I did purchase that black Strat :D My wife was pretty pissed when it showed up, but I said that I told her about it with enough sincerity that even I started to believe it.
Oh man, I got in trouble for the Gretsch purchase too. But, what ya gonna do? Post a pic of the Strat. Congrats!!! Also, join in on the #hubskioriginalmusic posts, even if it's just you jamming over Dark Star.
That black pick guard really is a game changer aesthetically. It looks so much more badass. Also, props on the Abby Road t-shirt.
How's that guitar? I'm not a super big fan of the Gretsch. I'll keep her, but she's not my favorite. The Fender Jazzmaster I have is just perfect. I feel like there is nothing it can't do. I'm going to to get some heavier gauge strings for the Gretsch. See if I can't get her to have a thicker sound. When this whole pandemic thing blows over, I'd love to come over and play that Strat. Honest to god, I've never really played one.
That's a shame. Sucks to be excited about something and then be disappointed. I pay d'addario 10's on my Gretsch. I like the tone a lot, but it plays sort of cheap (but it's a $500 guitar, so...). As for the Strat, I don't want to be over dramatic, but it's changed my life. I'm more excited about music right now than I have been in probably 15 years. Even learning to record, but I'm, uh, not even close to being a novice yet. If you've never played a Strat before, this one will spoil you. It's beautiful, perfectly set up, and the satin finish on the neck makes it as playable as any guitar I've ever used. I don't have a hint of buyer's remorse. I've never played a Jazzmaster, but I have played a Jag, which I'm still not entirely sure of the difference. Definitely looking forward to the day we can get together.
