This is probably a dumb question. How many people are dying from heat in naturally hot parts of the world?

That's tricky, in part because much of the data is incomplete. Heat waves in India page even explicitly states that those are underestimations, and that was the best-documented one I found.

On the one hand, you have populations that are likely to be more resilient to their climate on average. On the other hand, between poverty and high concentrations of people, heat is bound to exacerbate problems, even if resulting fatalities don't show up as heatstroke fatalities.
