Galbraith pointed out that an analysis by a bunch of Coolidge appointees did not recommend regulating the market further, and that Congress tightened monetary policy to curb speculation about four months before the crash. Parallels are not easy to draw, much as everybody wants to, but most people would agree that deregulation certainly prompts higher highs. After all, that's the point.
Really disappointed that both of my senators, Peters and Stabenow--both democrats, voted for this bill. Neither has offered an explanation, but I have to imagine is a political calculation triangulated on the basis that Trump was the first republican to win the state in almost 30 years. Apparently, they haven't been watching the blowback too closely.
