"Nihilistic pin-up boy" sums it up pretty well. We all remember the names Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, the "trench coat mafia" from the Colorado shooting back in the '99. Well, maybe we all don't remember, but I do, because they had a super long story about them in Rolling Stone (I think) a while after the shooting, complete with their personal photos, interviews with relatives and the whole bit, the kind of personal story they would normally reserve for a musician or some other culturally significant figure. Plus, I remember being a junior in high school at the time, and they took security to fascist level in the aftermath. Some other little nut definitely could see what awesome power we gave to these kids posthumously and think "I can do that, too". Fucking car crash gawkers, that's who watches the news.
