First of all, it's nice to see you. Breathe. You get to choose what you read, what you watch and how engrained in this whole thing you want to be. I think that the persona of Trump, the twittering, the bombast etc is all smoke and mirrors. I think it only serves him, and not us, to pay attention to it. I will pay attention to policy though. We should pay attention to his actions and the actions of those he appoints or keeps close to him. But I could give two shits if he thinks Meryl Streep is over-rated or thinks that fill in the blank with any number of celebrities or news organizations is biased and out to get him. Take a vacation from reddit, from cable news, from the #politics, #sillyseason and #uspolitics tags. Block them. Follow #feelgoodhubski and you'll be alright. Don't get me wrong, there is a LOT to pay attention to regarding all of this, but there's also a lot of noise, and the noise will just make you sad. Make you think that a pagan god is just fucking with you.
I've done this. I've unsubscribed from all the major subs on reddit, particularly the news subs. I don't have a Facebook account. I blocked all the tags you suggested from Hubski from months before the election. I'm still inundated with articles and discussions about Trump, mostly in sarcastic, vitriolic and hateful tones. Several people I follow here have decided to make Trump the major focus of many discussions. I'm wondering if I unfollow them if I'd have anything left to read. I understand the OP's frustration. It has gotten really hard to filter out all the noise without feeling like you're living in a cave and not having access to news that might affect you.

The problem is that all the noise is not just... background noise. It's like that horrible sound of nails on a chalkboard. On a related note, I'm writing an essay on what Donald Trumps presidency will mean for the media. And I'm thinking I will need to add a disclaimer along the lines of "This essay only covers shit Trump's done before the 14th of January so if this essay seems outdated it is because he is F*cking horrible" but eh, that's probably implied anyway.
