I'm stuck in McRae, Georgia. I have about six dollars. AA says I'm a liar, manipulative and generally a horrible person. When I disagree I'm not working the program. If someone comes to get me I might give them six dollars and a pack of cigarettes
Be careful, be safe and stay sober. Leaving and proving them all wrong is much different than leaving and confirming their vision of you. Either way, you're definitely not a horrible person. Be safe.
Speaking from a place of zero experience with addiction, have you looked into the SMART recovery program? I always heard it touted as a better, more realistic version of AA. YMMV obviously. stay safe friend
There is a part of me that thinks you're making a huge mistake. The other part wishes you Godspeed. You have chosen a difficult path. If I still lived in Metro ATL I'd come pick your sorry ass up. Please tell me you have brothers or sisters-in-arms to rely on? I hated rehab too but you won't get back on your feet alone. Be safe and keep us in the know.
