Around the point in the movie where they use 1970s footage of Red Leader and Gold Leader and then shortly after show literally hundreds of TIE fighters take off it occurred to me that this wasn't really a good movie but that most people would think it was a good movie because they love Star Wars and want more of it and then the whole house of cards started to fall and I realized everything else that I subconsciously disliked about the movie. But if you view it simply as entertainment then who the fuck cares I guess, it was definitely entertaining. Star Wars was literally the only fictional universe I gave 2 shits about as a kid but the "man behind the curtain" has certainly been revealed to me at this point, even more so than a year ago with TFA.
