Wait a second.

It's immature to refuse to vote for a candidate that while the lesser of two evils has many values that are directly and significantly at odds with most the goals of liberal democracy? I can't vote for someone that I think in the long term is going to destroy the very ideals that make this a great country.

It's your sort of pragmatism that is going to lead us down the road to hell.

I was pretty much done with mainline Democrats since Obama lobbied Levin and McCain to add language to the 2011 defense authorization bill to authorize indefinite detention of American citizens without legal recourse.

It's beyond the pale and I don't give a damn what Obama said in his signing statement.

There are a few other examples in the Obama administration which I think escape the bounds of supportable governance. Maybe it's unfair but I did look at a Hilary Clinton presidency and an extension of the Obama presidency.

I think we are on a path that will end in a great deal of misery regardless of who wins the presidency because these are the people who are running for president. I couldn't cast a vote for Trump but his presidency might be the one that leads to a reckoning of who we are and what we should be sooner rather than later, which will probably be ugly and terrible but necessary.

I don't think either candidate expressed any interest in the issues I care about most. I think both took positions contrary to my own views on most of my second tier issues. After taking a look at two candidates that are going to lead us into hell, Hillary is the winner. I'll keep voting for people who's values come a bit closer to mine rather than vote for candidates I think are dangerous and corrupted.

you will need to compromise with some of them in order to get some what you want.

I always notice older people have this weird vision that they have to like everything the government does and have a tendency to try pointing out something bad the government does as a reason people will regret voting for them. Like no, of course I'm not going to like everything the person I vote for does. I think maybe politicians used to be a little too romantized or something because I only see it in older people or young people who basically quote their parents. Is that similar in America ?
