The census has a well-known liberal bias.
I'm actually really surprised that migration is presented as an unusual, and negative part of pursuing education. I distinctly remember being told in high school, and again in college, that looking applying to a school in your own area was a peculiar thing that begged explanation. That keeping a tight leash to your hometown implied less potential for change and growth, and was potentially viewed negatively by school admission boards. Has no one else encountered this?
