This hurts the astronomer. BTW, that darker smudge is the secondary mirror's shadow.

That fuzzy shadow is why the hard core lunar and planetary guys do not like to use telescopes with a secondary obstruction. We have people here that will buy this when they win the lottery. Can't blame them.
