So Congress had no incentive to pay attention to them. But because they’re still citizens, it’s easy for Puerto Ricans to “emigrate” to the mainland US — where they can immediately register to vote, and where their votes really do count.
The only thing more frustrating than that video is the fact that not much has changed. The hope in Puerto Rico is that Hillary fulfills her promise while in office. It's really surreal to visit there, and watch my own family suffer to such a degree. Luckily, most of my family has left the island.
