This is full of beautiful anecdotes.
Man, I am going to be fucking destroyed when he dies. I never really connected with Bob Dylan or any other classic folk writers, but I've always felt so close with Leonard Cohen. Lots of lonely high school nights listening to his debut album - I still cover "One of Us Cannot Be Wrong" pretty much every concert. There's just something in his dry, dark sense of humor that I can't find anywhere else. I have a song on the album I'm putting out that I've mentally categorized as "that Leonard Cohen song", think I'll post it to Pubski tomorrow.
Are there any other lifetime artists who don't have a "bad period"? Cohen is incapable of making truly awful music, because he starts with that perfect, haunting Leonard Cohen template every time. His newest two albums are just as good as his Songs albums.
I remember first hearing: And then hearing: And realizing what genius was. Also, David Bryce was right, nobody trusts a good singer:
rob05c and forwardslash -which one of you is talented enough to fix the fact that when you use the "copy link" feature from YouTube and then paste on Hubski nothing appears? It's a problem. Any help is appreciated. / -Rob has really been working his ass off. Any chance we can give him a break?
