Currently on a Mitski binge. Will be seeing her live in London soon. First rock concert since at least a year ago (Deerhoof - fantastic). I've mostly been listening to 'bury me at makeout creek' because that was the one I remembered to put on my phone when I went on holiday last week but I bought her latest album 'Puberty 2'. Her music resonates with me because it's about being in your twenties and trying to find your way in the world and anxiety and woah all those things apply to me. That sounds awfully special snowflakey but this kind of thing can add to a piece of art's appeal and I will not apologise.

Remembered how great June Chikuma is. She wrote all of the soundtracks to Bomberman but also composes/performs smooth jazz and traditional Arabic music.

Frank Ocean's latest thing is good. I've listened to Blonde twice and Endless zero times. I remember when Channel Orange came out, it took me a few listens to really dig it and it became one of my favourites. That was a long time ago of course. Nowadays I feel like I rarely have time to listen to albums more than a few times because there's always more more more more music to discover. Wahh first world problems right?

How have I never heard of this?? What a great album. A bunch of the songs from Tapestry have since become pop standards so it was gratifying to hear them in their original incarnations.
