As usual, I have a bunch of different books going.

I'm still reading The Urth of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe to my daughter during bedtime. I'm hoping it will expand her mind. Like the rest of this series, it completely and totally refuses to hold the reader's hand.

While driving, I'm re-listening to Broken Angels by Richard K. Morgan, book 2 in the Takeshi Kovacs trilogy. I think next will be the WorShip series by Frank Herbert.

For myself at bedtime, I'm reading The Nightmare Stacks, the newest Laundry Files book by Charles Stross. I really enjoy this series; it's basically The I.T. Crowd meets H.P. Lovecraft. The protagonist of most of the books starts the series as a random IT guy for the British occult intelligence agency. In this world, magic is the result of math, and so part of the Laundry's job is recruiting/disappearing people who accidentally stumble upon mathematical theorems that can do unholy things. But there's a surprising amount of bureaucracy involved. Once this is done, I plan to start The Commonwealth Saga by Peter Hamilton.

For randomly eating out, I'm bouncing between Castle of Days, a collection of essays and very short stories by Gene Wolfe and The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith.
